Weigh Ins 7:00-8:30am
Wrestling starts at 9:30am
$10 entry fee

Grades K-8 {no high school}

Kids will be grouped by grade and weight

7 Mats in one facility

Last year we had the 7 mats available but only needed to use 5. Nice custom medals given out and done cleaning up by 12:15pm. Great expereience had by all. Our goal this year is to need to use all 7 mats and still be done by noon.

We will bringing out team up. We should have 15 Middle School kids and 4 kids 6U and 2 8U. I will also get some of the teams from our league to come up as well. When you come to the first league match make sure to bring fliers to hand out to the coaches.

There will be no charge at the door for parents or anyone else coming to watch the kids wrestle.
Just come on out and support the kids.

A large tournament team trophy will be awarded to the top team at the tournament.

Placement points will be awarded for each weight class and division placement.

1st place = 3 points
2nd place = 2 points
3rd place = 1 point

Things are looking up!

Last weekend down in Ramona I spoke with the coach running their middle school league. Sounds like we are going to have a nice contingent of kids from clubs down south.

Yesterday I got an email from the coach that runs the Hawkeye Club (Laguna Hills). He told me that they'll have some kids here too.

This will be a folkstyle {high school rules} tournament

Age & Weight classes with 3-5 individuals will wrestle round robin.
Age and Weight classes with 6 or more individuals will wrestle in double elimination brackets.

It sounds like we've got plenty of interest in the tournament this year.

It will be a great experience for everyone!

This afternoon I spoke with the coach from Escondido, Laguna Hills, Huntington Beach, and two other coaches from out of the area that I didn't know.
Tonight Coach Cliff Jarmie from Laguna Hills told me that the gentleman that runs his youth practices {Hawkeye Wrestling Club}, ran his spring sesson a week longer so his kids would be ready for this tournament.

Most of the coaches at the SoCal Middle School Challenge last weekend said they were bringing kids up.

If you are still on the fence about coming out...Just jump off the fence and show up. I guarantee you and your wrestlers will have a great time.

I will also post the results here later in the weekend!

Great tournament today. We brought 7 kids they all got a minimum of 3 matches and we were out of there at 12:30. Great day, the fact that we had all 7 place in the top 3 was icing on the cake. Thanks San Clemente!
