The Patriots are proud to announce the final signee of the 2011 recruiting. Please welcome Shane Tate of Oakdale, CA.

Shane is a 3x CA place-winner and a CIF semifinalist. During his career, he placed 5th, 3rd, & 8th in the state tournament. He has also placed in CA top tournaments such as the Five Counties and Temecula Valley invitationals. We expect Shane to compete in the 141/149 lb class!"

Tate joins California wrestlers Vince Rodriguez and Shohei Takagi at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

He's a really cool young man. I enjoyed watching him this year.

George Mason also announced the hiring of long time Minnesota Gophers assistant Joe Russell. Overall, I like that hire. Smart man, great coach knows what it takes to build a program.

Aside, is this the first of the CP recruits/wrestlers to find a new home with the coaching change? Any others to follow?
