San Fernando wants to thanks everyone who came down to wrestle today. There where a lot of Southern Section teams represented but a big shout out to all the LA City teams who made it. First we want to thanks Carson who made it down. Also in the house was Sylmar, Ali from El Camino Real, Birmingham, Granada Hills, and Chatsworth. Also want to thank our boys for putting in the work setting up, wrestling and tearing it down. Hope to see you all next week.

I wanted to personally thank Ernie for coming down early and getting us started. Special thanks to all those who purchased their scway cards online and registered. Tournament got started on time at 9:30 and wrestling was done by around 2:00. We got all the kids division going as quick as we could, most got 4-8 matches and left telling me they were pretty happy with the mat time. Coach Lawson, I want to thank you as well, I think we got things going well for the upcoming fall schedule and we look forward to coming to your place next weekend. And lastly, and most importantly thank you to my boys for setting up yesterday, working the tables when you were not wrestling, reffing, and for a speedy clean up, and a special thanks to my volunteer coaches and parents for the taco stand, the snack shack and for running around and doing all the little things that make a tournament run well.
The wrestling was top notch, Ali Nasser of ECR vs. the Valencia brothers of St. John Bosco matches were an instant classic, just about every kid and parent was cirlced around that mat and the boys wreslted their tails off for a hard fought matches. The other big time matches between Hokit, Mendez, Cannon, Domingues was a nails bracket. Ernie Promises to have the the results up asap

Unfortunately I over promised and under delivered on the results piece. With all of the walk ups and non pre registered athletes we could not run automat live and relied on the hard work of Lawson, and hos to trusted volunteers who I would like to thank. I will try and get some results up here soon and possibly even recreate the event if we have the brackets saved.
To answer your question-
Ali edged Zahid in overtime (Note there was a 15 pound weight difference in favor of Ali) while Anthony edged Ali in overtime. All three and others should be celebrated as they accepted every challenge match on top of wrestling there brackets.
In the 110-120 pound match Isaiah Hokit went undefeated, Christian Martin, Joseph Domingues, Sergio Mendez, Sean Cannon, Johnny Parada all traded a win or a lose at some point.
I want to thank Bloomington for bringing a great group--for anyone who doesnt know there is a dynasty brewing there---they roll with 20-30 kids every week and seem to be everywhere. El Dorado kids helped all day and wrestled tough, South Hills, Brea, St John Bosco, all were there in big numbers.
The event ran pretty smooth and the quality of wrestling was the highest I have witnessed at a preseason event in socal in my 9 years here. Finally a great suprise was the kids division where a full mat ran all day from 5-13 year olds and they were all high level. Thanks to the USA Pounders, Arvin, Tribe etc. Eddie Aguire, Silva, Camilo and the pounder family are first class and a pleasure to be around. Also had the Troy family there and the Marin's. All in all I had a great day as I got to be a dad, ref, pairer, and fan in the same day.
Next week EL DORADO baby---should be good.

In defense of Ernie, our school internet, filter blocked the software necessary to run the auto mat program. Of speciial note it was Ernie's Birthday and he CHOSE to spend it helping me a friend pull off this last minute change of venue and help to make it a success as we had higher than I anticipated attendance. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERNIE, YOU BIG ITALIAN MEATBALL!!!!

I would just like to give a heart felt thank you to Ernie C. When introducing any product to the public it is impossible to please everyone. But Ernie, you have came closer to my idea of what a perfect day of wrestling consisted of then anyone else in the last 11 years that I have been associated with. It is something special to feel like someone would fret over whether your son is getting the matches that he wanted when attending a tournament. I have always been asked at almost every tournament if I was happy and satisfied. I heard Ernie going from coach to coach, dad to dad asking the same question this weekend. I think the real satisfaction is just knowing that the head of a state organization really cares so much about the sport and the individuals that compete. I wont say any names, but there are some close friends of mine in wrestling that wont support another organization in California because of the blatant disregard for customer service. Im not here to bash, but rather to compliment the good job that I have experienced on a regular occassion. I realize that Ernie is a "pot stirer" by nature, but so were some other pioneers that wrote constitutions, led church reformations and were the achitect of civil rights movements. I m not necessarily exalting him to the level of a saint or anything, but I know that my money means something to me and having someone who wants me to have so much value for my dollar and goes out of his way for me to get it is gonna have and keep my support. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seth I think you hit the nail on the head. Lots of great matches this weekend in every weight class. Never thought I would have seen a big bracket for 5-6 year olds that big at a tournament this early in the year but it just goes to show you what kind of tournaments Ernie is running and the support he is getting behind him. Thanks again Ernie and San Fernando for a great weekend!!!
