I try to stay off these days...as I'm not really involved in the sport anymore...but I just have to ask my Manzo from Crespi at 113 is so low...from a pure statistical lens he should be number one with a 2nd @ Masters, right?

I am sure there are head to heads I'm unaware of, so I'm asking out of ignorance instead of hostility...lol

he's the highest ranked 103 moving up to that weight class since i have the "Masters 1" (aka: Mai) staying down...those above him are either nationally accomplished (i.e. Zahid), an accomplished 119 (nader) coming down, or accomplished 112's from last year....good to hear from you my brotha!!!!

Garretm, forget what TJ wants, he'll just change his mind:) Eventhough I have no ponies in the race. I say rank the wrestlers at the weight they are currently wrestling at. Keep up the good work.

I am not talking about any of my kids. I was trying to figure out how a kid that was 4th in CIF last year and wins the Carter tourney beat a returning state qualifier in the finals. And at the same time finishes ahead of 6 CIF placers. He shows up no where in the rankings. The ranker had to see the results because he adjusted the rankings of his teamates.

I don't know about any of that:) I was just suggesting that you rank the wrestlers at the current weights that they are wrestling at, thats all. It doesn't matter if they are REV, Alta Loma, CC or this mysterious wrstler that you are referring to:)

12-07-2011, 03:51 PM
I have partially adjusted some of the weights as my work schedule allows me to do so....and no, i do not have the time to re-do all the rankings every time a kid changes weights...i have found it the most effective use of what little time i have to try to rank them at their cif weight....(assuming i can accurately predict what weight they will go) for instance: Johnson mai wrestled 113's this weekend...i am not going to waste time ranking him at that weight when i know where he will end up (106).....must we discuss this every year? If you've got the time, start by helping me with the rankings instead of criticizing...i can't do this by myself....so, TJ why don't we start with letting me know who you are referring to AND who's this FLORES kid you picked up? is that Flores from Kaiser?

also, does anyone have any info on carter placers not ranked such as Lemmerman(palm desert), Wallace (paloma Valley), or Tiedeman (palm springs) ??????

again...need all the help (not argument) i can get

Keep up the great work...

And don't worry...everyone complains all the time...its what complainers do...

I say don't change their weights until January...that was always my philosophy...after TOC, Mann, Shark Tank and The Bash...

Sometimes they drop down cuz they see they are number 5 in their "ranked" weight and they haven't had much success at their "current" weight...yep...that has happened...and I got emails to prove that...

On that note...check your PM...

Brandon appears to be a very light heavyweight... I was guessing he was going back down to 220's, especially considering charter oak has a very capable heavyweight option in JJ...am I on the right track? Or should I count on Brandon sating up at hwt?

probably, but since my heavy (jojo) from last year is out with torn ACL (possibly, no official mri due to insurance) from football I told him (brandon) that we would feel it out, there are 220's that move better than him so want to give him the best shot... it was looking like a great hvy wt year for JJ, but its the price we pay for multiple sport athletes... ugh.

I agree with you...Root actually beat Sheldon Smith who pinned Vega, so I will be adjusting 106's soon.

Brandon Arrietta pinned kenneth clark at WCC in finals.

Maybe you want to re look at that one?? Arrietta pinned the kid from Central Union in the finals, not Kenny Clark. Granted Arrietta wrestled great, it was Kenneths first tournament of the year due to football, but Arrietta only beat Kenneth 5 - 3, and Kenny had him on his back when time ran out. I'll take my chances with Kenneth later in the year. However, the Central Union kid that Arrieta did pin only lost to Hulick (Esperanza) 1 - 0 in the finals of Edison, so Arrieta wrestled real well, but he didn't pin Kenneth Clark.

Khoa Nguyen 126 woodbridge has head to head over Dyllan Ryan - Centennial 3-0. Pinned Chris Lee - West Torrance ( Beat Gambino 5-4 @ Mann). Pinned Zhukov - Laguna Hills. Placed over Matt Weir - Atascadero @ Mann.

I would also consider Christian Hauser - Capo Valley in the talk @ 120 with his showing @ mann and others.
