I must ask, how is Lemoore ranked 10th in the STATE and at the same time, ranked only 10th in its own SECTION?
    Answer me that one.

The same way Nathan Zarate, who just defeated the #1, #2 and #4 ranked wrestlers in the STATE, and will certainly be State ranked himself, can be #4 in his own section two days after the mentioned performance.

Ranking is an art, not a science.

It's simple. For example, if Lemoore sends a few solid kids to state, such as Rocha and Sierra, then they have the possibility to score a lot of points at state...Much different at sections where a team needs five to eight kids to win sections.

    I hate logical answers.

  6. OK, that's the Team answer. How about the individual one?

Rankings are done as awhole season unless there are head-2-head for separation.

In Zarate's case he had a great tournament and beat some very good kids no doubt. With that said none of the 3 kids above him in our section were at 5-Counties. We are left with a little unknown. In our section Zarate has no wins over the 3 in front of him...

Also Zararte does have a lose to Lujan, but Zarate did just beat Lujan 2-1 at 5-Counties. Does that mean Lujan is better than West because the match was closer?

In all Zarate moved up the rankings as he should and is 2 spots higher than Lujan who is 1-n-1 against. Dieter is a state qualifier, Quesada has beaten Dieter twice, and Hicks was a top 12 kid in the state last year.

Really the top 4 could be put in any order and someone could still have a valid point.

The justification at this point is no head to head matches and a lose to Lujan.

    Rankings

Last week Nathan Zarate wasn't even ranked so Nathan is very happy to be ranked 4th.

Leave it alone! Nathan doesn’t care about any of these rankings.
