Thanks for putting out the proposed dates early, it's a big help for planning.

I'd like to request a second look at the date for cadet and junior Greco state.

Greco state for cadets and juniors the first weekend of June is a real problem because for many schools it's the weekend before finals. It's also a critical date for taking the SAT II subject tests, for the wrestlers applying to college. The last two years this date has been used, the numbers have seemed low compared to the year before when it was in April, at Temecula.

My younger son really likes Greco, but there's no way he's going to be able to attend a multi day tournament the weekend before finals week.

I second Coach Morris' thoughts.

That 1st week of June is also the week of finals for some schools. Quite a few have had to miss that tourney the past couple of years because of the date it's been scheduled. 2010 had a great turnout when it was in Tulare (May 20-22).

I'm sure the board has considered different options that I'm not aware of, but I'd really like to see the Cadet and Junior Greco dates adjusted. Greco state on the first weekend of June is not good. The last two years the brackets have seemed smaller than the previous two years, when it was held in April and May at Temecula and Tulare. Those were well attended, fun tournaments.

The Association Duals date of 5/ 11-12 has a weekend before and after that's open. If Greco state were held on either of these weekends, or if Association Duals was moved forward or back one weekend and Greco state put in, I would consider that an improvement over holding it in June. Between finals week and SAT II testing, the June date will miss some quality participation.
