As many of you might know, I've been working on something I call the "Dropped Project" for the last two years. With the help of a list started by someone (I can't remember who), which was sent to the NWCA, I've tried to isolate the year programs were cut.
I recently had this on one of the websites I manage, but figured a google document might be the best way to keep this thing moving, since formatting is a bit easier.
So I need help from the wrestling community in helping compile this data. There's approximately 670 schools (give or take) that once had wrestling as a varsity sport and doesn't anymore.
I need concrete dates (not guestimations) of when these programs were cut. I also have tabs on the spreadsheet for programs when they were added and another for name changes (schools like Tri-State changing its name to Trine, etc.).
I'm going to sticky this topic. Please look over the document and e-mail me with updates, additions, omissions, corrections, etc. This has been a two-year project, which probably will take another two years to complete. Hopefully, we'll put more teams on the "Added" tab than the "dropped" tab during that time.
Here's the link:

Feel free to share the link with anyone you know that perhaps wrestled at one of these schools. I'm using my personal e-mail, but I you can send things to my usaw e-mail account as well, or PM me on the board here.
It's going to take the entire community to help give us a stat to show where programs were cut, then we can dig into more reasons and develop ideas to quell the rash of cuts. We've added over 50 programs in the last 5-6 years. That's a start.
(If the mods could sticky this topic, it would be appreciated)
