2011 Junior Greco World Duals
Hosted by the Community Youth Center

This years tournament will feature teams from Germany, Sweden/Norway, USA All Star Team, Oregon, Kansas/Missouri, and California. The tournament will be a great preparation for the Cadet/Junior Nationals. The objective is a high level Greco Roman tournament to prepare you for National and International level competition, all while promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie. This is a combination dual and individual tournament where wrestlers will get 7-10 matches. Wrestlers will have the opportunity for joint training at the CYC prior to the tournament. At this time there are limited spots available; wrestlers that would like to participate should contact Nick Saldivar immediately. Nick will be putting together the California team for the tournament. This is a great opportunity to get some high level Greco matches against top national and international level competition.

History
The Junior Greco World Duals is an international wrestling tournament that has been held for the past 14 years at Community Youth Center (CYC). It was formerly known as the Concord Cup. The competition has been done with both senior and junior wrestlers. Currently the tournament is junior age group. The event features elite level wrestlers from all over the United States and other countries. Cadet wrestlers are also welcome to test themselves against older competition. The tournament often features future stars of Greco Roman Wrestling on international levels. The senior level competition has featured elite heroes such as Rulon Gardner.

The Greco World Duals has always featured elite wrestlers from National and International levels. The past events featured the following:

We are getting more and more interest from out of state wrestlers. This is shaping up to be a great tournament.

Last year this tournament was amazing, really exciting to watch. The seating is right near the action, and the level of competition is outstanding. I recognized multiple Greco AAs at Fargo who had wrestled at the Greco World Duals. This is really a great opportunity for CA kids to participate in AA level Greco without the expensive travel.

The clinic the day before with Willie Madison from the Olympic Education Center was also well done.

Very few California wrestlers signed up. This is your chance to wrestle some top level guys, and get ready for National Duals and Fargo.
