ELIGIBILITY: Open to all wrestlers in the United States. Rookies, Bantam, Intermediate, Novice, Middle School (6^th, 7th, 8th grade).
RULES: Modified National Federation Rules—Folkstyle

MATCH LENGTH: All Divisions 2 - 1 - 1 on Championship side and medal matches. Consolation matches will be 1 - 1 - 1

Rest Time: The minimum rest time between matches is 10 minutes.

HEADGEAR:Headgear IS required.

FORMAT: CAGWA style brackets. 3 pool rounds. Top 2 in each pool group move on to championship bracket.

Pre-REGISTRATION OPENS: Monday, January 2nd 2012- 5:00pm PST.

Pre-REGISTRATION CLOSES: Sunday, February 12^th 2012 - Midnight

Pre-REGISTRATION FEE: $30.00 to be paid online when you register. No refunds!!

WALK–UPS:$40.00 - We will allow walk-UPS on Friday February 17^th, 2011

Weigh-Ins: All Divisions February 17^th, 2012 6:30 – 9:00 pm Note for Middle School Division Only: Optional weigh in time Saturday Feb. 18^th, 2012 9:00 am – 10:00 am

CHANGING WEIGHT CLASSES: Your final weight class is determined at weigh-ins.

USA Wrestling Card:All Wrestlers MUST have a USA Wrestling Card. You must purchase your USA card online only. Please be sure to select California Age Group Wrestling Association. You CANNOT purchase your USA Wrestling Card at the event.

* Rookie (born 2006-2007) Weights: 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75

* Bantam (born 2004-2005) Weights: 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 75+

* Intermediate (born 2002-2003) Weights: 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 87, 95, 103, 112, 120, 120+

* Novice (born 2000-2001) Weights: 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 120, 130, 140, 140+

* MS = Middle School (born on or after 1997-2000) Weights: 75,80,85,90,95,102,110,117,125,132,140,150,160,175 ,195,220,275***

Folkstyle tournaments will include a Middle School Division. 9th grade wrestlers are not eligible for the Middle School Division. It is possible for a 9th grader to be born in 1997; however, we do not allow 9th graders born in 1997 to compete in the middle school division. A copy of the wrestler’s birth certificate & school enrollment must be made available upon request.

How is this a "National" event??

This tournament has built itself to a national event based on increased participation from states other than California and neighboring states.
Also, our participation numbers have grown and far exceed those of most "National" events on the east coast.
I will not go any further than that. Wrestlers and parents who have participated in this tournament would agree.
There are many more factors but in the end he or she who wishes to come will.
