We are at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford.
The doctor said that she might have something called WPW (Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome) along with her SVT ( Supra-ventricular Tachycardia ). Here is the game plan for tomorrow. They are going to do some tests to find out if she has WPW. If she does have WPW, since WPW is life threatening, they will have no other option than to install a pacemaker. If she does not have WPW, they will treat her SVT in this order. First they will try to freeze the problematic cell (least risky). If successful this will rid her of her heart condition. If that doesn't work they will next try to "burn" the cell by cauterization. This is more risky due to the fact that and they only get one shot. Again if this is successful, she will be symptom free and back to normal. If all of the above fails, they will have to install a pacemaker. This will help regulate her heart and get her as close to a normal life as possible. We will not know anything until they start surgery. We will know more around 1-2pm tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted.
