Take your resume and shred it at every level was what was told to me. There are non state placers that beat multiple time state champions at the next level. Mama Colunga was probably just realizing she just spent 8 years in bleachers, and $80,000 on entry fees and camps for the combined $96.12 of labor the Oakdale public waste system was paying for the hop skip and a jump to the landfill.
There are two types of people: those that talk the talk and those that walk the walk. People who walk the walk sometimes talk the talk but most times they don't talk at all, 'cause they walkin'. Now, people who talk the talk, when it comes time for them to walk the walk, you know what they do? They talk people like me into walkin' for them.

There will always be multiple championships at each level. Nothing legally makes a CIF State Championship the best. It's just been legitimized over the years. Same thing with the NCAA. What makes that "better" than NAIA or NCWA? Nothing, other than peoples' views.

SCWAY K-8 State was originally a vision of Paul Keysaw who came from the state of Pennsylvania where the the system for youth was as organized as the system for high school. Here, we don't have that. We have a team based system at the high school level and an individual system at all other levels. Paul wanted to bring the same structure of the PJW (Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling - www.pajw.com) to California.

The SCWAY K-8 State is in its 2nd year. If you like the high school system and want something similar at the youth level, this is your chance to be a doer.

Personally, I believe in systems and as much as I hate to deny kids opportunities, I love the fact that all the kids wrestling this Saturday and Sunday will have earned their way to the championships. And each wrestler that wins will know they were part of a process, and they were the final wrestler standing. That to me, is cool. That's the vision.

There will always be more than one way to skin a cat. None are wrong. It's all about what you want.

I look forward to the future of the SCWAY K-8 State and it's qualifying process.

the reason i knock on USA is because they have not done one thing for my kid but take my $$$$.....besides this year, if u went to USA....u had to wrestle in the tourney for 2 days.....even though my boy only had 11 kids in his bracket.....we took grama to see her lil mijo at the BIG STAGE n it was so over crowded that on sat the 2 matches he had, she missed them both....then to make it worse they went through my sons wrestling bag n made him throw away his snickers bars that he uses as a power bar.....then on sunday he gets to wrestle right....yea at 2:30 in the after noon....but ok....so he ends up in 5th place, yeeeppee....he getsa lil 2 inch medal that cost me $600 for the whole trip......but ok, the sucky part is that grama dint get to see lil mijo wrestle at all.....now in just 2 years that Ernie n SCWAY staff have been here...USA is starting to change some things perrty quick....now my boy is in the 8th grade n will b in high school next fall....im GLAD that his 2 years of wrestling at the Jr High level that really matter, we were involved wit SCWAY.....Ernie n staff are helping me get my boy ready for the next level....u know, the one that really matters....when he knows that he has to go through 4 stages of qualifing to get to state he will b ready.....oh yea, at the same weight to.....

HA,HA,HA, exactly but 10-years and a little more cash,lol... I do however feel that S.C.W.A.Y. 's road to state is a wonderful way to prepare our youth wrestlers for the March madness known as the road to the high school state championships. Ernie and everyone involved in this visionary organization are on the right track. Keep doing what your doing and the sport will be great for the kids i currently Coach and my Grandsons. I sure do wish S.C.W.A.Y. was around when my son was younger though. Take care and good luck this weekend.
Glorify yourself and you shall be humbled, humble yourself and you shall be Glorified.

85% of names mentioned above wrestled this past weekend. If this tournament Detemines a true California state champion, how can wrestlers from Nevada wrestle in this tournament?
