Does anybody know if I have to use CIF ref's?

No you don't have to.

had CIF referees, and some pretty good ones at that. For local tournaments, most teams use their most experienced wrestlers as referees. It is generally agreed upon that it is more important to get mat time, and make a little money for your program than to have CIF referees.

Great! I got some kids that have moved on to Fresno City. I was hoping to be able to use them.

One thing that I don't like seeing is young kids reffing. It just reminds me of some of the freestyle tournaments you go through where an 8th grader is reffing two 17 year olds, and is scared to make calls. Also, safety becomes an issue with little guys reffing(they don't stop positions that need to be.) I like seeing coaches, former wrestlers that are out of school doing the reffing.
