California Women’s Wrestling Freestyle Dual Meet Summer Challenge
California Women’s Wrestling Freestyle Dual Meet Summer Challenge
From Marcie Van Dusen:
The idea is to have a six-week summer dual meet freestyle challenge. Where we have teams from the north compete and the south compete, with a final dual between the best team form the north and the best team from the south. The team that wins the summer challenge will earn a $300 credit for each girls that qualify for Jr. or Cadet Nationals in Fargo ND.
Objectives
Increase the participation of California Women wrestlers who wrestle freestyle during the summer.
Keep the girls training in preparation for Nationals in Fargo ND
Increase awareness of the importance of the State tournament and the National Tournament
Create more opportunity for exposure to freestyle wresting
Challenges
We need about 16 Teams to participate to make the summer challenge effective
Raise the money for the $300 credit
Find a time that works best for the athletes
Suggested time frame

BBS Nationals is May 12th, the weekend following BBS Nationals is the 19th
April 14th –June 2nd
Taking two weeks off for the state tournament (Fargo Qualifier) April 28th, and a week off for BBS May 12
