Hey Guys,
We have a scheduling conflict at Exeter HS that we were not able to rectify. We are unfortunately going to have to cancel the tournament scheduled for April 14 at Exeter HS.
Please help spread the word to others you may know that plan to come to our event!

The Desert Area Wrestling Group is in running a trial season in 2012 in order to determine if there would be enough interest to start an association within the next few years in the high desert. The area covered by this group would include, but not necessarily be limited to: Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Lancaster, Ridgecrest, Boron, Edwards AFB, Barstow, Victorville, Hesperia, Phelan, and Littlerock. Teams from outside the area are certainly welcome to attend and join our tournaments. We have traditionally hosted our tournaments and sanctioned through SCWA; however, we are now attempting to run as an independent group. That said, our tournaments will be smaller and a bit friendlier.

Our schedule will include the following tournaments and these sites:

Styles: Folkstyle (Folk), Freestyle (FS), and Greco-Roman (GR).
Entry Fee: $10.00 per weight class, per style. Competitors may enter multiple styles and divisions. Registration: All registration is the morning of the event or by special arrangement with the tournament hosts for outside the area teams traveling to the tournament.
Weigh-ins: 7:00-8:30 AM
Weight classes: Pooled brackets double elimination.
Girls: Girls will be placed in the boys bracket, but will be allowed to wrestle exhibitions against other girls or a bracket will be put together at no additional cost should there be enough competitors.
Divisions: Kids, Cadet, Junior and Open.
Note: if competitors are not available, some pairings may occur depending on age rather than division. Every attempt will be made to assure that every wrestler gets a chance to compete.
Medals: Top three per weight class
USA Cards are required: cards are valid yearly from September 1 through August 31.2011-12 USA Cards can be purchased online at https://www.usawmembership.com/ for $35 plus an online service/bank fee. Cards may also be purchased the day of each event for $45.00. There is no club membership requirement and insurance coverage for each card member is valid at any USAW sanctioned club or event nationwide.

Weigh-ins for kids from 6:30 - 8:00 a.m. and an additional weigh-in for Cadet/Junior and Open @ Noon - 12:30 p.m. Good people, good competition for $10.
