for how huge this tournament is.... its pretty lame that we can't see the brackets online. They dont even have to be updated instantly, just at the end of the day. just my thought.

All the brackets are done by Hand right at the table. the winner gets the bracket as a trophy. No computers...

My kid competed in this tournament every year from about 9 Years old till he was a soph in HS. Very tough meet with some of the best kids in the country. Looking back over the years, I was amazed at the number of future D1 wrestlers that competed there. Yes, the bracketing and seeding is a joke, but it is a small price to pay. In the last year that my son competed (15-U, 200 lbs), He was one of 3 CA HS state placewinners all on the same side of the bracket. At the end of the day (because of the true 2nd format) they finished 1,2, and 4th. if there was a true 3rd, to the loser of the true 2nd match, it would have been a CA sweep. Pretty stupid that the seeding was that inept in that weight. In the meets defense, our team had 7 placers that year and any of the coaches that were paying attention commented that Vaca could win a CA state title in 2 years, which is exactly what happened.
