Default 2012 Junior Greco World Duals Concord, CA

    2012 Junior Greco World Duals
Hosted by the Community Youth Center

The tournament this year will feature teams from Germany, Sweden, Norway, USA All Star Team, Oregon, Kansas/Missouri, and California. The tournament will be a great preparation for the Cadet/Junior Nationals. The objective is a high level Greco Roman tournament to prepare you for National and International level competition, all while promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie. This is a combination dual and individual tournament where wrestlers will get 7-10 matches. Wrestlers will have the opportunity for joint training at the CYC prior to the tournament. At this time there are limited spots available; wrestlers that would like to participate must contact Kenneth Cook immediately. You cannot just show up for the tournament. You must be part of a team. Kenneth will be putting the team together for the time being. However if a coach would like to take over this role and coach the kids in the tournament we would greatly appreciate it. This is a great opportunity to get some high level Greco matches against top national and international level competition.

Lots of interest from across the country, but not much from California kids. This is your chance to get some high level greco wrestling.

This is a GREAT tournament to watch. Intimate setting with all 4 mats easy to see, and watching local guys mix it up with national and international competition is a lot of fun.

Last year at 160lb were Jake Elliot, Jesse Baldazzo, Zach Brunson from Oregon, Paddock from NY, some kid from Idaho that trains with Ivan Ivanov, and the international guys, all in an 8 man bracket. I think Matt Hickman was there too.

The clinic with the guys from the Olympic training center, Justin Lester and Rob Hermann, was a bonus.

Thanks for fixing that. Do you have the full brackets for each weight available? Was Nagi at 138 from Hungary?

This is shaping up to be another excellent tournament. Lots of kids from across the USA coming this year. We are planning on having another Olympian this year performing clinics Thursday/Friday.

We do not have full individual brackets because we do those by hand. I have the line-ups for all of the dual teams last year if you would like that.

We still have some openings, but the weights are filling up quickly. Email me if you are interested. The tournament is shaping up to be very tough this year with 5 returning National Champions, and over 20 returning All Americans.
