What it shows is that California , Washington and Oregon were the only states representing. It's seems as if Reno WOW has become a west coast thing with only western states showing up. A couple of years ago there were alot of east coast states showing up.
What it shows is that we have a great tournament in a convenient location to California. There where medalist from 29 States, that’s pretty good in my book. Obviously the biggest state represented is CA but there is plenty of out of state competition. Reno is one of the top 3 or so youth tournaments in the country. In comparison to CA the host state Nevada had only 2 champions.
The kids that show up from other states tend to be the cream of the crop. CAlifornia may have had more kids but that is no reason to belittle their accomplishements.
My intentions were not to belittle Cali kids. I was just saying that the Reno turnout this year was a little scarce of out of state wrestlers. If you notice the top 5 states were all west coast states. Ive been there a few time and I'm sure if you got the numbers from jack roller you will see that the out of state competition was thinned out.
With the economy being in the crapper,I would expect less kids from states further out. Only makes sense Calif had more.
35 States with medalist.
