U.S. Olympic Team member Coleman Scott celebrates his U.S. Olympic Team Wrestle-off victory at 60 kg in Times Square with his coaches Zack Esposito, John Smith and Eric Guerrero. John Sachs photo.

One of the reasons that the Beat the Streets Gala in Times Square is such an amazing event is the visual images that are captured during the competition.

This year, two of wrestling’s great photographers, John Sachs and Larry Slater, were among the many photographers to capture the action on the mat in the Crossroads of the World, one of the most famous settings in the nation.

We post a link to their photo galleries in this story, as well as some interesting shots captured by NBCOlympics.com.

John Sachs photography is world class. The other photographers are not even close.
I hope the California Wrestling Community appreciates John’s talent and the time and expense he commits to wrestling.
I can see one of the major news outlets taking notice and prying John away from us.

Let’s be sure to let him know how much we appreciate what he does for the wrestling community.
