Default Good news for Fresno St.

We're halfway there! President Welty announced he will retire in the summer 2013. Now all we need is Boeh to retire or get fired and we will have a great chance at getting wrestling back to the central valley.

Too bad someone doesn't know a state auditor for California university systems. It would be interesting to see the school and the athletic department get audited. That in itself usually causes turnover as far as presidents and other higher up administrators at that level.

They are a public institution so I think it could be done. Not sure on the steps to get it done though!

Not sure how true this is, but many people said that it was always Weltys fault the program was dropped. Boeh was just following orders. I think a little kindness to the AD wouldn't hurt and raising some funds wouldn't hurt. I'm sure coach delido has a ton of info but hopefully this is a step in the right direction

It is my understanding that periodic audits take place.

I know the wrestling coach who previously worked for Boeh, he said Boeh did not need any encouragement, and in fact it appears that he set up Coach Charles by asking him what he needs for the program, only to use that list by saying Fresno State could not meet the coaches needs as one of the reasons the program was being dropped.

As far as Deliddo goes, he does know the Fresno State Board of Trustee Peter Mehas (since 2007), so you would think he has been getting information the entire time.

It would be nice to get an update from DeLiddo regarding possible reinstatement. Boeh has felt the passion from wrestling fans throughout the state, and did not like it. He underestimated the reaction to dropping wrestling. As a result he is probably more resolved than ever regarding bringing wrestling back. The only salvation would be his dismissal, or a huge donation to help the overall maligned Bulldog athletic program, IMO.

Not sure where your getting your information on Boeh, but his history doesn't support your findings. He if anyone is a strong advocate of Title IX, which among AD's means he will cut a male sports program with no hesitation. I believe it is going to take a new, better organized approach to bringing back wrestling to Fresno State Home protests, organized rallies and 1,000's of phone calls and emails didn't work before, it is time to head in a new direction.
